La Cienega

The community of La Cienega is located south of Santa Fe and north of La Bajada Hill, where the old road took travelers safely up the steep La Bajada Escarpment.  Las Cienega has held onto its rural flavor even in its newest subdivision, Las Lagunitas. The most prominent landmark in the area is the old Downs of Santa Fe Racetrack, which is owned by the Pojoaque Pueblo. Further southwest is El Rancho de Las Golondrinas and Sunrise Springs Spa and Resort, a local favorite for relaxation and a convenient place for a great meal.
