Cochiti Lake is built on a mesa overlooking the
Rio Grande River and Cochiti
Lake with some of the best views in the state:
Sandia Mt.'s to the SE, Jemez
Mt.'s to the NW, Bajada escarpment to the N and E and Tetilla Peak to the E.
Activities include: boating, fishing, golf, hiking, biking, ghost towns,
Kasha Katuwe Tent Rocks
and native culture. Cochiti Lake land is leased by the Cochiti Pueblo who
also manages the golf course and small shopping center. The 200 homes here
are serviced by a local fire department, town hall and library. Pena Blanca
is 5 miles to the south of Cochiti Lake on HWY 22.
